This cozy caramel apple dip with cream cheese is a quick and easy comfort food that comes together in under 15 minutes. It’s perfect for cozy nights, movie nights, or any time you need a little sweetness in your life.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces (226g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (240ml) caramel sauce
  • ¼ cup (50g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon (1g) flaky sea salt
  • 3–4 medium apples, sliced (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • Optional toppings: chopped pecans, mini chocolate chips, or extra caramel for garnish

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese: Take your cream cheese out of the fridge about 30 minutes before you start. It should be soft to the touch but not greasy. If you’re short on time, cut it into small cubes and let them sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Melt the cream cheese: Place the softened cream cheese in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly with a rubber spatula as it melts, about 3-4 minutes, until completely smooth and slightly glossy.
  3. Add the brown sugar: Once the cream cheese is smooth, sprinkle in the packed brown sugar. Stir continuously for about 2 minutes until the sugar dissolves completely.
  4. Pour in the caramel sauce: Slowly drizzle in the caramel sauce while stirring. Keep the heat on low and stir for another 2-3 minutes until fully combined and thick.
  5. Add vanilla and salt: Remove the pan from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and flaky sea salt. Taste and adjust if needed.
  6. Cool slightly: Let the dip sit for 5-10 minutes. It will thicken as it cools. If it thickens too much, stir in a teaspoon of milk or cream to loosen it.
  7. Transfer and serve: Pour the dip into a serving bowl. Slice apples just before serving and arrange around the bowl. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use full-fat cream cheese and let it come to room temperature. Low heat and constant stirring are key to a smooth texture. The dip can be made up to 2 days ahead and reheated gently. It also freezes well for up to 3 months.
