A festive and easy Halloween charcuterie board featuring cheese, candy corn, and other sweet and salty treats. Ready in under 15 minutes, it’s perfect for parties, movie nights, or a cozy evening at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 8 oz brie cheese, whole wheel
  • 6 oz smoked gouda, sliced or cubed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened (optional)
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks or twists
  • 1/2 cup roasted salted almonds
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate-covered pretzels
  • 1 cup red and green grapes, washed and separated into small clusters
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced (tossed in lemon juice)
  • 1/2 cup dried apricots or figs
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs (for decoration)
  • 1 cup water crackers or plain crackers
  • 1 small baguette, sliced and toasted
  • 1 cup pita chips or tortilla chips

Instructions

  1. Take the brie out of the fridge about 30 minutes before assembling to bring to room temperature. Cube the sharp cheddar into bite-sized pieces (about 1-inch cubes) and slice the smoked gouda into thin triangles. Place the brie whole on the board in the center or slightly off to one side. Arrange the cheddar and gouda around it, leaving space between each type.
  2. Place small bowls or ramekins on the board. Fill one with candy corn, another with roasted almonds, and a third with dark chocolate-covered pretzels. Spread them out across the board.
  3. Scatter the grape clusters in the gaps between the cheese and bowls. Arrange the apple slices in a fan pattern near the cheddar. Tuck the dried apricots or figs into any remaining empty spots.
  4. Arrange the water crackers in a neat row or cluster near the brie. Place the toasted baguette slices in a separate pile, and scatter the pita chips around the edges.
  5. Tuck the pretzel sticks vertically into the gaps. Sprinkle the almonds (if not in a bowl) around the board for a rustic look.
  6. Lay a few fresh rosemary sprigs across the board for decoration. Serve immediately, or cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 2 hours. If refrigerating, take it out 20 minutes before serving to let the cheese soften.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the board; give ingredients room to breathe. Keep candy corn separate from cheese to prevent stickiness. Balance flavors: salty, sweet, creamy, and crunchy. Prep all ingredients before assembling. Use the ‘three of everything’ rule for visual appeal. For a quick version, just arrange cheese and candy corn in a simple pattern.
