A rich, spicy, and creamy 5-ingredient party dip made in a slow cooker. This easy recipe combines chicken, cream cheese, buffalo sauce, ranch, and cheddar for a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 oz block cream cheese (cut into cubes)
  • 1 cup buffalo sauce
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of a 4-quart slow cooker.
  2. Pour buffalo sauce and ranch dressing over the chicken.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours until chicken reaches 165°F and shreds easily.
  4. Shred the chicken directly in the pot using two forks.
  5. Sprinkle cream cheese cubes over the shredded chicken.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 30-45 minutes, stirring vigorously until cream cheese is melted and smooth.
  7. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese and let melt for 5 minutes.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with green onions and serve warm.

Notes

Use block cream cheese, not spreadable, to prevent a watery dip. Ensure chicken is fully cooked before shredding. If the dip is too thick, add a splash of chicken broth or ranch. If too runny, cook uncovered on high for 30 minutes.
