A fun and easy Halloween appetizer featuring hot dogs wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough, baked until golden and crispy. Perfect for kids and parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1–2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8–10 beef or turkey hot dogs
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese (optional)
  • 1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)
  • Mustard or ketchup for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a standard baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into triangles.
  4. Place a hot dog at the wide end of a dough triangle and roll it up tightly, leaving ends exposed.
  5. Sprinkle cheese inside the wrap if using, being careful not to overfill.
  6. Brush the wrapped hot dogs lightly with the egg wash.
  7. Sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if desired.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until dough is golden brown and crispy.
  9. Cool for 2-3 minutes before serving warm with mustard or ketchup.

Notes

Ensure dough is at room temperature for easier wrapping. Do not overcrowd the baking sheet to ensure even crisping. The egg wash is essential for a golden finish. Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours or frozen before baking.
