A spooky and delicious Halloween party dip featuring a creamy buffalo chicken base topped with a crispy, golden-brown puff pastry spider web.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken breast
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup creamy ranch dressing
  • 2 stalks green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds, optional for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a medium-sized baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, and buffalo sauce. Mix until smooth.
  3. Fold in the shredded chicken and shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Roll out puff pastry and cut into thin strips (about 1/2 inch wide). Arrange strips in a grid pattern over the dip, then add diagonal strips to create a web effect.
  6. Brush the pastry with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the dip is bubbly.
  8. Let cool for 5 minutes before garnishing with extra green onions and serving.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is softened to room temperature to avoid lumps. The dip can be assembled up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerated; add 5-10 minutes to baking time if baking from cold. Serve with sturdy chips, pretzel crisps, or celery sticks.
