These honey garlic salmon packets are a quick, forgiving, and flavorful dinner that comes together in just 20 minutes. The salmon steams in parchment with a sweet and savory glaze, resulting in moist, flaky fish with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: fresh parsley or green onions, sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, and olive oil. Set aside.
  3. Tear off four large sheets of parchment paper (about 12×16 inches each). Fold each in half and crease lightly.
  4. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides lightly with salt and pepper.
  5. Place one salmon fillet near the crease of each parchment sheet. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of glaze over each fillet, coating the top and sides.
  6. Fold the parchment over the salmon and seal the edges by folding them in small, tight folds to create a sealed packet.
  7. Place the packets on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until salmon flakes easily with a fork and internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  8. Let packets rest for 2 minutes before opening. Transfer salmon to plates, spoon remaining glaze from packet over top, and garnish if desired.

Notes

Pat salmon dry for best glaze absorption. Seal packets tightly to prevent steam escape. Let rest 2 minutes before serving. For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the glaze. Can be assembled up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerated.
