These festive Oreo truffles combine creamy cream cheese and crushed Oreos coated in white chocolate and decorated with red, white, and blue sprinkles. Quick and easy to make, they are perfect for patriotic celebrations and crowd-pleasing desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 36 Oreo cookies (about 14 ounces/400g), crushed finely
  • 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 12 ounces (340g) white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)
  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place 36 Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely ground (about 20 seconds). If using a plastic bag and rolling pin, crush thoroughly to a fine crumb texture, removing any large chunks. (5 minutes)
  2. Mix with cream cheese: Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a mixing bowl. Add 8 ounces (225g) of softened cream cheese. Blend with an electric mixer on medium speed or mix vigorously by hand until fully combined into a smooth, sticky dough. (5 minutes)
  3. Chill the mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 15 minutes to firm up the dough. (15 minutes)
  4. Form truffles: Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, portion out the mixture and roll into 1-inch (2.5 cm) balls. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. (10 minutes)
  5. Chill the truffles: Refrigerate the rolled balls for another 15 minutes to help them set before dipping. (15 minutes)
  6. Melt the white chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 12 ounces (340g) white chocolate chips and 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional). Microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, melt over a double boiler on low heat. (5 minutes)
  7. Dip the truffles: Using a toothpick or fork, dip each chilled truffle into the melted white chocolate, fully coating it. Tap off excess chocolate. Immediately sprinkle red, white, and blue sprinkles on top before the coating sets. Place back on parchment paper. (20 minutes)
  8. Final chill: Return the dipped truffles to the fridge for at least 30 minutes to harden the coating completely. (30 minutes)

Notes

Do not overmix the Oreo and cream cheese mixture to avoid greasiness. Chill the dough and truffles thoroughly for best shape and coating results. Use room temperature cream cheese for easier mixing. Melt white chocolate gently to prevent burning. Add sprinkles immediately after dipping while coating is wet. If chocolate thickens, reheat gently. Use slightly warm hands to roll truffles to prevent sticking.
