A nostalgic and easy-to-make Halloween dessert featuring layers of chocolate pudding, creamy cheese mixture, and crunchy cookie crumbs, topped with gummy worms for a spooky treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (3.4 oz or 96g) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups (480ml) cold whole milk
  • 1.5 cups (approx. 150g) chocolate sandwich cookies (e.g., Oreos)
  • 4 oz (113g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (240ml) whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip)
  • 10–15 gummy worms
  • Optional: Mini chocolate chips or extra crushed cookie crumbs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a Ziploc bag and crushing with a rolling pin. Set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk. Beat for 2 minutes until thickened and glossy.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped topping until combined.
  4. Assemble the cups: Start with a layer of cookie crumbs (approx. 1 tablespoon) at the bottom of each serving cup.
  5. Add a layer of chocolate pudding (approx. 2 tablespoons) on top of the crumbs.
  6. Add a layer of the cream cheese mixture (approx. 1 tablespoon) on top of the pudding.
  7. Top with another layer of cookie crumbs to create the ‘dirt’ effect.
  8. Tuck gummy worms into the top layer of crumbs, letting them wiggle out slightly.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set before serving.

Notes

Ensure cookies are fresh and crunchy to avoid a mushy texture. Cream cheese must be fully softened to prevent lumps. For best results, use cold milk to help the pudding set quickly. These can be made up to 24 hours in advance.
