A quick and easy frozen strawberry margarita slushie recipe perfect for summer sipping, combining fresh strawberries, tequila, lime juice, and a touch of sweetness for a refreshing drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled
  • 1 cup blanco or silver tequila
  • 1/2 cup orange liqueur (triple sec or Cointreau)
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 45 limes)
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 34 cups ice
  • Salt for rimming glasses (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rim glasses with lime juice then dip into coarse salt. Set aside.
  2. Squeeze fresh limes to get 1/2 cup lime juice, strain out seeds if needed.
  3. In a blender, combine strawberries, tequila, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup.
  4. Add 3 cups of ice to the blender.
  5. Pulse the mixture on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth but icy. Add more ice if needed and blend again.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or lime juice as desired, blending briefly after adjustments.
  7. Pour into salted glasses and garnish with a fresh strawberry or lime wedge. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Start with less ice and add more to achieve desired slush texture. For a non-alcoholic version, omit tequila and orange liqueur and add sparkling water or orange juice. Keep strawberries and ice cold before blending. If blender struggles with ice, let it sit then pulse again.
