A quick and easy sangria featuring fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and crisp white wine, perfect for summer parties and patriotic celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml / 25.4 fl oz) dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio recommended)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1/4 cup (2 fl oz) orange liqueur (triple sec or Cointreau, optional but recommended)
  • Juice of 1 large lemon (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1 cup (8 fl oz) sparkling water or club soda
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes (plenty)
  • Optional: fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Optional: thin lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse all the berries gently under cold water. Hull and slice the strawberries into thin pieces, leaving blueberries and raspberries whole. Slice the lemon into thin rounds, removing seeds if possible.
  2. In a large pitcher, pour the entire bottle of white wine (750 ml / 25.4 fl oz). Add the sliced berries and lemon rounds.
  3. Pour in the orange liqueur (1/4 cup / 2 fl oz) and fresh lemon juice (2 tablespoons). Stir gently with a wooden spoon to combine without mashing the berries.
  4. Stir in the simple syrup—start with 2 tablespoons and taste after chilling; you can always add more if you prefer it sweeter.
  5. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to marry and berries to infuse their juices.
  6. Just before serving, add about 1 cup (8 fl oz) of sparkling water or club soda to the pitcher for refreshing fizz. Add plenty of ice cubes to keep everything cold.
  7. Pour into glasses, making sure to include some berries and a lemon slice in each glass. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Use fresh berries for best texture and appearance. Stir gently to avoid breaking berries and clouding the sangria. Chill at least 1 hour or overnight for best flavor. Adjust sweetness after chilling. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute white wine and orange liqueur with sparkling white grape juice and a splash of orange extract or juice. Frozen berries can be used but may make the sangria cloudier. Use a glass pitcher to avoid flavor absorption and to showcase the colorful berries.
