This spooky Halloween punch with dry ice fog is a show-stopping party drink that combines tart cranberry, sweet pineapple, and fizzy ginger ale with a dramatic dry ice fog effect. It’s quick, easy, and guaranteed to impress your guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cranberry juice (100% juice, not cocktail)
  • 2 cups pineapple juice (canned or fresh)
  • 2 cups ginger ale (chilled)
  • 1 cup orange juice (fresh squeezed or store-bought)
  • 1/2 cup lime juice (fresh)
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (optional)
  • 2 cups frozen lychee fruits
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup frozen cranberries
  • 1 orange, sliced into thin rounds
  • 1–2 blocks food-grade dry ice (about 2–3 pounds)
  • Fresh mint sprigs (optional garnish)
  • Edible glitter or luster dust (optional garnish)
  • Plastic spiders or gummy worms (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the Lychee Eyeballs: Drain the canned lychee fruits and pat them dry. Gently press one blueberry into the center cavity of each lychee to create the ‘pupil.’ Set aside in a small bowl. You’ll need about 15-20 eyeballs.
  2. Mix the Punch Base: In your punch bowl, combine the cranberry juice, pineapple juice, orange juice, and lime juice. Stir gently until well blended. Taste and add simple syrup if desired.
  3. Chill Everything: Refrigerate the juice mixture for at least 30 minutes before serving. You can prep this step up to 24 hours in advance.
  4. Add the Ginger Ale and Garnishes: Just before serving, pour in the chilled ginger ale and stir gently. Drop in the frozen cranberries, orange slices, and lychee eyeballs.
  5. Prepare the Dry Ice: Put on gloves or use tongs to handle the dry ice. Wrap the block in a clean kitchen towel and place it on a cutting board. Use a hammer to gently break it into golf ball-sized chunks.
  6. Add the Dry Ice: Using tongs, carefully drop 2-3 chunks of dry ice into the punch bowl. Do not use more than this. The fog will start rolling immediately.
  7. Serve Immediately: Ladle the punch into cups, making sure no dry ice pieces end up in anyone’s glass. Add fresh chunks every 20-30 minutes to maintain the fog effect.

Notes

Never consume dry ice directly—it can cause internal burns. Wait until the fog stops bubbling before drinking, and always use a ladle to serve. Keep the punch bowl away from children and pets when adding dry ice. Store dry ice in a cooler with the lid slightly cracked—never in an airtight container.
