Easy 5-ingredient Halloween treats that transform classic Rice Krispie squares into festive pumpkin pops using orange candy melts and pretzel sticks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10-ounce bag large marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 12-ounce bag orange candy melts
  • Black icing (tube or squeeze bottle)
  • 1 box long, thin pretzel rods

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat, then add marshmallows and stir gently until smooth and glossy (3-5 minutes).
  2. Remove pan from heat and immediately fold in Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated (2 minutes).
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Dip the tip of each pretzel stick into the marshmallow mixture and press into a rectangular block of the treat mixture. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  4. Microwave orange candy melts in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and pourable.
  5. Dip half of each cooled treat pop into the melted orange candy melts and place back on parchment paper.
  6. Once the orange coating sets (about 5 minutes), use black icing to draw spooky faces on the orange portion.
  7. Let the pops sit for another 10 minutes to ensure the icing is dry before serving.

Notes

Do not overheat the marshmallows or they will become tough. Grease hands with butter to prevent sticking when shaping treats. Ensure treats are completely cool before dipping in candy to prevent melting. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
